Who am I?
I am Berend de Ruiter, 25 years old, living in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel.
Besides my work in accountancy, I have a great passion for sports, entrepreneurship, and adventure. My performance-driven, ambitious, and competitive mindset has ultimately led me to one big dream: participating in the world’s toughest rally, the Dakar Rally.
Achievements
Since the age of four, I’ve been hooked on motorcycles and have achieved several successes in motocross, including multiple championships and podium finishes. In addition, I obtained my MT-2 license and give motocross lessons to share my passion for the sport.
In recent years, I have also been active in rallying and have already achieved impressive results, including winning the Baja Europe and finishing third in the Rallye Breslau.

- 2026: Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge
- 2027: Morocco Desert Challenge
To qualify for the Dakar Rally, I need to finish these rallies consistently and successfully in order to earn the required 14 FIM points.
